The Qashgai are Turkic-speaking nomadic tribes who live in the region around Shiraz in southwest Iran. Kilims are double-sided, flat wool carpets with a typical slit weave. This means that the weft has slits in which the colors change. The carpets feature classic Qashgai motifs such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, and Caucasian star motifs. Colors such as blue, yellow, red, green, and beige are used.
